I remember when I was in grade 3, my grandpa and my dad would often tell me things like: “respect your teachers” and “treat then as if they were your parents” and so one. At that age I did not understand why this was necessary, because I didn't see any values and why I would need to respect them. I do agree with the statement that teachers were more appreciated and valued by society in the past than they were nowadays. And I think that there are multiple reasons of why to support my arguments. First, and a very very big reason of why teachers are getting less and less “appreciative” and “valuable” is due to the amount of effort that takes to become a teacher. 4 to 5 decades ago, being as educated to a level that would qualify to become a teacher was much much harder then let’s say right now. And this might not sound like that big of a problem to me, and you might think that since you have to get a teacher’s degree first to qualify to be a real teacher, so there is nothing to worry about, right? Well, NO. With more and more people opening these “profiting schools” which is mostly just a rented house, and 2 or 3 people with only elementary school knowledge. Can open a kindergarten. Which is very scary if you think about it. Secondly, with more and more violent video games on the market for low aged students, it can have a very bad influence on the kids, especially if they are very young and inexperienced. Which can cause this evolutionary thought of “harming people is ok” and “guns are fun” which can lead to these kids having violent thoughts and applying violent actions to people around them, and this of course being mostly teachers, who have to deal with there kids often. And after sometimes of “influencing” the teachers starts to get bothers and frustrated by their thoughts. Then of course leading them to act with less and less patients. Until that one moment where they starts to act without manners and violently “rule over” the kids. Thus making them not worth of respecting. My last point is that I feel like that the society's demand on teacher is decreasing, so as a School’s impact on society today. And to me this has a lot to do with the fact that there are more and more ways to learn now and it is no longer mandatory to go to schools and going to schools for learning new things is not anymore the only way to acquire knowledge. So thus decreasing teacher’s value as a whole. In my conclusion, I want to say that yes, I agree with that studying as a whole’s value is going down, however our respect for teachers should not.
