The reading passage and the lecture hold conflicting opinions about what happened caused the mass extincition . The reading passage claims three possible theories led the mass extinction. However, the lecture disagrees. 

Firstly, the reading passage states the declines of sea levels caused ocean population decreased. Those coastal and shallow-ocean species have a significant influence on food  . However, the lecture claims they can build the station 50 kilometers high which above the ground. And the pressure will be same as the pressure on the Earth. So there is no damage on humans.
