I agree that teachers were more appreciated and valued by society in the past than they were nowadays.
Students don't value the teacher because they can learn subjects in many other ways.With the development of our life,many families have great condition of education.So the parents always support qualified condition for their childs.They can study on the Internet besides in the class.So the childs may not value and appreciate the teacher.Such as the condiion in China,in the past several years China conducted he one-child policy.Six persons in one family pay attention to one child at the same time,and they all love the child.So the child is more fortunat and overconfident.They have good life condition with caring and love.Sometimes they can't accept the critism from their teacher.So they might not be appreciated and valed.
Another reason is teachers are more dedicated and patient in the past than they were nowadays.We know that nowadays many teacher don't teach the complete knowlege in the class.They only teach a little knowledge and teach the other after class.It is not a good behavior.An more and more teachers are imptient with their students.
