The writer and the speaker have a conflict opinion on whether Pterosaurs were capable of powered flight or not. The writer believes that they were not able to powered flight following three reasons while the speaker on the opposite agrees that they were capable giving three reasons as well. First, the writer thinks that the ancient reptiles such as pterosaurs were probably cold-blooded since modern reptiles are cold-blood so it seemed unlikely that pterosaurs would have been able to generate the energy needed to fly. However, the speaker stands on the opposite. She points out that recent discovery from the fossil shows that the pterosaurs had dense covers like furs which are common to see on warm-blooded animals. Warm-blooded animals need furs to maintain body temperature so that the pterosaurs were more likely to be warm-blooded animals which can generate enough energy for powered fight. Second, the writer thinks that pterosaurs were too heavy that they would not have been able to flap their wings fast enough to stay aloft for any length of time. However, the speaker does not agree. She points out that the feature has been found shows that pterosaurs' bones were hollow so that their weights were low enough for them the flap. Third, the writer thinks that the pterosaurs' bak legs were too small and weak to allow them to run fast enough or jump high enough to launch themselves into the air. however, the speaker stands on the opposite. She says that the pterosaurs had different ways to launch from the birds which uses only two legs to walks on the ground. The pterosaurs used four legs walking on the ground which can strongly push off the ground to launch. So the pterosaurs had not trouble running fast enough and jumping to the air.
