Teacher is always an important role in our daily life because teacher is the person who teaches us knowledge and rules of life, and they teach children, who are the future of the world. In other words, teachers might control the world's development. But nowadays, teachers sometimes are not very appreciated. And in my opinion, teachers are less appreciated and valued by society nowadays than they were in the past. 
First of all, teachers are less valued because of the Internet. Nowadays, Internet is been used very common. In China, they have a website called "baidu", which can type your problems or questions into this website, and it will search the answers for you rapidly. So when students are in trouble, they always search on the Internet instead of asking teachers. Also, Chinese students has a lot of studying software which can search the questions they don't know at school. But in the past, teachers were more valued than they were nowadays. I have read an article about studying with teachers which was writing in the past. In the article, students traveled a long journey to meet a famous teacher and ask him questions. During the class, the students were very polite because they didn't want to make the teacher be angry to him.
