People nowadays are paying much attention on eating and preparing food. However, the situation will change and they will spend less time cooking and preparing food in twenty years than they do today. First and foremost, people will have no time to cook and prepare food. Life of working people are becoming busier and busier, the speed of life has increased a lot and will keep increasing. People have to do lots of work to earn more money and catch up with the society. Cooking and making meal may seem wasting time in the future, and people will have more important things to do other than cooking. According to a research held by Harvard University, 80% of the people thinks that preparing for food is not that important than many other things like work and study. Secondly, the high-technology will make it possible for people to spend a very limited amount of time making food. For example, many process of cooking can be replace by robots in the future just like cutting vegetables, washing fruits and so on. Twenty years later will be the time when robots entering people's home and doing basic chores like cooking and freeing people to do other essential stuff. Imagine having a robot in your home and restaurant for cooking, and you can enjoy a delicious meal without entering the kitchen. I believe many people will choose this way rather than preparing by themselves. Last but not least, people can not cook food in the future because the lack of cooking ability and cooking skill. A research held by BBC shows that 90% of young people in the modern day society, especially teenagers don't know how to cook meal and have no interest in learning it. Twenty years later, when they grow up and enter the work force, they definitely won't learn to cook but rather buy food from stores or eat outside. My mother has learnt to cook when she was in her middle school and now she can make me delicious meal. While I am in high school now and know nothing about cooking. I doubt that I will know how to cook twenty years later because I am not interested in learning it even though my mother has offered to teach me for dozens of times. To put it in a nut shell, people will spend less time cooking and preparing food in twenty years than they do today since they will have no time in the future, and young people now are not interested in learning it, and we can get all we need by applying high technology things in cooking.
