As our society develops, things such as public transportations and internets are all improved to satisfy citizen’s needs. Compared to public transportations which had been used a long time, internet had just started to blend into our lives. Therefore, many people suggest governments to take more actions in improving internet access. I, on the contrary, believe that public transportations deserve more financial supports from the government. Even though improved internet access can make people life more convenient, it is essential for government to spend more money to improve public transportation in order to improve the environment and to improve more people’s life. To begin, more and more severe environment issues started appear in our world. These issues can be hugely improved as public transportations are improved. As everyone knows, environment issues have something to do with the release of excessive amount of carbon dioxide, PM2.5, and many other chemicals into the air, polluting the earth, threatening our health, and vastly increasing the globe’s temperature everyday. A main source of these chemicals is transportations such as cars. So, many people are encouraged to take public transportations to reduce the amount of harmful chemicals released and positive changes in the environment are observed as the population which takes public transportations increase. For example, a research in China shows that changes in the environment are highly related to the amount of vehicles on the street. However, many people still prefer not to take public transportations for problems such as crowded subways and buses that are too cold or too hot. Therefore, it can be clearly shown that if money are spent to increase subway’s capacity or to install air conditioners and heaters on public buses, the population of people taking public transportations will increase more, thus improving the environment issues present. Secondly, compared with internet access, public transportation could benefit more people. Internet is not essential in our life but public transportations are. Some villages far away from urban cities are in desperate needs of public transportations. People there do not have enough money for private transportations so many needs public buses to move around the village or to work outside the village. However, the amount of public transportations are not enough. For instance, in China, kids in small villages have to walk for at least 3 hours to school. With public buses, the hour spent on roads will vastly decrease, providing them with more time to study. Also, public buses provide adults in villages opportunities to work in cities to earn more money. It is once reported that a village in China is isolated away from other places from more than a decade because there are no roads or public transportations available. Therefore, it is necessary for governments to spend money in providing public transportations to villages far away from cities to increase their life quality and to provide them with more opportunities. This will also benefit the government in return because more people from far away villages can be educated and there will be more workers in cities. Admittedly, spending more money on internet access may bring one benefit - making people’s life more convenient. As internet access are improved people will be able to buy things from the internet or receive informations through the internet, improving their life and making it more convenient. For example, if people need to go to hospitals, as internet access increase, they can register online instead of getting up early and waiting in a long line in the hospital, thus hospitals will also not be crowded anymore. In conclusion, even though improved internet access can make people's life more convenient, it is more essential for government to spend money in improving public transportations to solve environmental issues and to improve more people's life.
