The reading and listening material have a debate on opinions about the idea that  wether Sinosauropteryx was a feathered dinosaur. The writer claims that the  Sinosauropteryx wasn't a feathered dinosaur, which is rebutted by the following lecture.

Firstly, the writer argues that  the skin fibers were misinterpreter as the evidence of feathers. However, the speaker cast doubt on it, becases there aren't any decomposition of other animals  at the same  site .

Secondly, the writer claims that the lines surrounding the skeleton are fossilized remains of frills. While the speaker views the issue from an opposite angle. According to her, feathers have protein, but frills don't. The reserach shows that the object contain protein,so the structures were feathers.

Finally, the writer states that the lines in the Sinosauropteryx fossil were mostly located along the backbone and the tail of the animal  and would have made the structures quite useless for flight. By contrast, in accordance with the lecturer, the writer’s claim does not hold water.  For   Sinosauropteryx, feathers have display function. Colorful feathers can attract a mate, and  Sinosauropteryx's feathers are orange and white.The  Sinosauropteryx's colorful feathers supports this idea.
